FAQs

New to cash-based PT? Here are the questions we hear most from active adults across the South Shore.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start PT at Podium?

In Massachusetts, you can see a physical therapist directly without a referral. Just schedule a free discovery call and we'll take it from there.

How is cash-based PT different from going through insurance?

With cash-based PT, you get one-on-one sessions with Sam for a full 60 minutes, no aides, no rushing, no insurance-driven limits on care. You pay directly, and Podium provides a superbill if you'd like to self-submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

What happens during my first session at Podium?

Your first session is a 60-minute, in-depth full body evaluation. Sam identifies the root cause of the problem not just the symptoms and builds a personalized treatment plan during that first appointment.

Can I keep training while I'm doing PT?

In most cases, yes. Sam's goal is to keep you active throughout the process, not to put a pause on everything you love. He'll guide you on what to modify and what to push, based on your specific situation.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the injury, your goals, and how your body responds. Sam gives you an honest estimate during your first session no inflated session counts, no running up a bill. Most patients see meaningful progress within a focused window of care.
