Physical Therapy in Hanover, MA

Stop Modifying. Start Training Like You Mean It.

Shoulder pain cutting your bench? Back pain limiting your deadlifts? At Podium, you get 60 minutes of one-on-one PT focused on finding the exact cause and building a real plan that gets you back to full training.

You're Too Active to Keep Sitting This Out

Rushed visits leave you without real answers

Fifteen minutes with a rotating aide isn't PT. You need focused, one-on-one time with someone who actually knows your training and your goals.

Generic protocols won't fix your problem

A sheet of band exercises won't get you back to overhead pressing or squatting under load. You need a plan built around how you actually move.

Every week off is ground you're losing

The longer you wait, the harder it is to get back. Pain doesn't fix itself—and you shouldn't have to keep modifying forever just to stay in the game.

Common Conditions We Treat

What We Help You Get Back To

Whether it's a shoulder that's been off since your last heavy press, a back that limits every lift, or a knee that hasn't felt right in months we find the cause and build a plan around it.

Shoulder Pain - Pain with pressing, overhead movements, or serving that keeps you out of the gym or off the court.

Low Back Pain - Pain that flares with lifting, squatting, or prolonged sitting and keeps you from training consistently.

Hip Pain - Pinching, clicking, or aching at depth in squats and lunges that limits how hard you can push.

Knee Pain - Pain with loaded movements, running, or stairs that has you modifying more than you'd like.

Elbow and Wrist Pain - Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, or grip pain from lifting or racquet sports.

Neck Pain - Tension or stiffness from desk work or training that compounds and limits your performance in the gym.

What Patients Are Saying

I am very thankful to have found Sam. After years of having difficulty in the gym because of nagging injuries and imbalances I can now say I feel much more confident in the gym and stronger than I was before. He is really good at assessing what you actually need and finding the right exercises to get you back to training how you want. If you’re having trouble with nagging gym issues or are having pain at work Sam can definitely help you get back to feeling better!

Sam is seriously the best physical therapist out there! As an American Ninja Warrior competitor, I’ve dealt with my fair share of ankle and shoulder injuries, and Sam has been incredible every step of the way. He really takes the time to understand the demands of my sport and tailors everything to what I need. He’s super flexible, always adjusts to how I’m feeling that day, and gives me exercises I can actually keep up with outside of PT too. I’ve seen so much improvement thanks to him — couldn’t recommend him more!

I injured my left shoulder via general overuse in August of 2024. I couldn't bench press, overhead press, or do push ups without serious pain. I even had pain in everyday life (getting out of bed, pulling clothes overhead, etc). The injury proved itself to be quite stubborn - after seeing another PT for months with no improvement, I was about to give up and accept that I would just have this limitation forever. I met Sam at the gym (Lifted in Hanover) in November of 2024 and decided to give him a shot after glowing reviews from others at the gym. I saw him weekly for a couple months and under his guidance and expertise, was back to doing what I used to in the gym with minimal pain in just a couple months. A few months after that I was totally pain free in everyday life, and I even was able to increase weight at the gym. Last month marks a year after my injury and I couldn't be happier with where I am today. I wish I had taken before and after videos because it is a night and day difference. If you have an injury that is stubborn to fix, I promise you Sam is your guy!

Frequently Asked Questions

We know choosing a cash-based PT is a real decision. Here's what active adults on the South Shore ask most.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start?

No referral needed. Massachusetts is a direct access state, which means you can start PT without seeing a doctor first. Just reach out and we'll get you scheduled for an evaluation.

How is cash-based PT different from using my insurance?

With cash-based PT at Podium, every session is one-on-one with Sam for a full 60 minutes. There are no visit caps, no pre-authorization delays, and no compromises on your plan. Many patients find they get better faster and spend less overall than cycling through insurance-limited visits. We also provide superbills so you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Can I keep training while I'm doing PT?

Usually, yes. The goal is to keep you moving while we fix the root cause. Sam will help you identify what's safe to continue and what to modify so you don't lose momentum during the process.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your injury, your goals, and how your body responds. After your initial evaluation, Sam will give you a clear sense of what to expect. Most people have a good idea of their timeline within the first few sessions.

What makes Podium different from a regular PT clinic?

At Podium, you work directly with Sam—a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist with sports physical therapy residency training—for a full 60-minute session every time. No techs, no double-booking, no generic protocols. And because we're located inside Moses Fitness, your late-stage rehab can happen with real equipment at real intensity.
